Technical Assistance Farm Visit is an on-farm food safety assessment for Iowa fruit and vegetable farmers.
The primary objective is to provide farmers with guidance toward Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Produce Safety Rule compliance with their farm operations. A secondary objective is to prepare farmers for an FDA on-farm food safety inspection.
During a technical assistance farm visit:
- Assist farmers to understand the FSMA Produce Safety Rule as applied to their farm operations
- Help growers assess their readiness for an FDA on-farm food safety inspection
